The Museum of Wisconsin Art was founded as the West Bend Art Museum in 1961. The Museum entrusted KMI with the challenging objective of creating a building façade that made a definitive statement about the collection being housed inside and the level of prestige it commands. In the end, the façade itself was transformed into a work of art.
The façade is mostly comprised of varying hues of white, whose subtle differences remain undetectable to the eye until a visitor is looking at the building up-close. Sleek, dramatic yet understated masonry work brings prominence to the building without stealing thunder from the art it protects. The success of this project is a testament to the high degree of skill that we bring to all of our work.
