The Situation:

This was a big project. At 198,000 ft², Aurora Health Care’s state-of-the-art medical center in Mount Pleasant includes 60 surgical and intensive care beds, 5 operating rooms, and 30 prep and recovery bays. The 98,000 ft² medical office building next door is home to a variety of outpatient services, including sports medicine and rehabilitation.

The Solution:

As the masonry contractor, KMI was responsible for the stone veneer, brick veneer and precast elements. We also installed the concrete block.

The scale of this project — along with the tight timeline — made planning on the front end critical to our success. It took a tremendous amount of coordination with suppliers, the project manager and other contractors on the job to ensure that everything is done right, on time and on budget.
